Wedding is coming together!

So it has been 2.5 months since i have given an update on the wedding. Since i last posted i have been dress shopping twice, to four different stores and tried on more dress then I can keep track of. I narrowed it down to 2 dresses after shopping on Thursday. Now after thinking about it for 2 days i have decided on which will be THE DRESS!!! I'm going to go back to the place to try it on again before i order it, but i found my dress. Its so beautiful, and I feel like a princess in it. No one will get to see what it looks like though until the wedding, i want it to be a surprise. I have also begun looking at bridesmaid dresses for the 4 lovely ladies that will join me up at the alter on my big day. I found some styles online that i liked, but they weren't as flattering as i thought they would be. But I did get some great ideas. My mom and I have been researching favor ideas. We seem to like clear heart shaped container that we would fill with m&ms or Jelly Bellies. Next on the agenda is invitations and registry, then after the new has begun we will focus on food, flowers, music, and finalize centerpiece ideas. In the spring Ryan will decided on tuxes and I'll work on the cake. Before I know it the big day will be here! I can't wait, I am so looking forward to becoming Mr. Ryan Mott.

We have a place and date for the Wedding!

Ok, so i know in the previous post I said that i was having my wedding at The Tower in Narragansett on June 4th. But after looking at a few more places and comparing them my mom and I decided that the Towers just isn't the best place for the wedding. It was too expensive and their wasn't much space. Instead we have decided that we are going to have the wedding at Quidnessett Country Club (pictured below) on June 19th, 2010! I am so excited, the place is beautiful and as a great view of Narragansett Bay. 

It feel so good to finally have a place for wedding, now i can start really planning. I have decided that i would like to do a beach theme for my wedding. Ryan and I got engaged at the beach and it one of our favorite places. I have already found a centerpiece i love. If only trimming the guest list was as easy as finding a centerpiece, i be so happy!

We Found the site for our wedding!!!

I am so excited, we have found the place to have our wedding.... The Towers in Narragansett! I went on a tour on Friday with my mom, the place is beautiful and has gorgeous views of Narragansett Bay. I called today and we have been penciled in for June 4th, 2010! Once my mom and i get their packet in the mail and look it over we will fill out the application send in the deposit. I am so excited i can't sit still. I hope the fact that its on a Friday won't be a problem for our guests. Any way i was so excited i had to tell someone.

Wedding Planning

So the wedding planning is underway sort of speak. I have gotten tons of wedding magazines and cut out the pictures of the things I like. I know i want my bridesmaids to wear purple tea length dresses and the groomsmen to wear black suits with purple ties/handkerchiefs. As for flowers I want my bouquet to have roses and Gerber daises. We haven't decided where we want to have the wedding but Im sure we will decided soon. 

I can't wait to get married and start my life with Ryan. We have all these ideas for our future, i can;t wait to make them reality.

Welcome back to the real world

So its been a week since I got back from visiting Ryan and I'm already itching to go back. I had a great time with him. We cooked together, walked the mall looking at wedding bands and tuxes, it was a blast. I even got to meet some of Ryan's coworkers when we went out to a bar named Champions for burgers and pool. Most of all I just enjoyed being with Ryan, being able to look at him when I talked to him, kissing him when i wanted too. I am so tired of the whole long distance relationship thing. I hate not being able to see him after work and on the weekends. But its only for another year, Ryan  plans to move back home right before wedding so we can be close to our families. So over all the trip was great, i wish i could go back every weekend!

First Bridal Show

So Yesterday I went to my first bridal show with my cousin Mattie. The Show was in Newport, RI at Rosecliff and Oceancliff Mansions. It was so much fun, crowded but fun. Their was all sorts of vendors from photography to gift registry. I got some ideas as to what I'd like to incorporate in to my wedding. It was a long day though, we were their from 10:45 to 5, and even then my day wasn't over! After dropping Mattie back at her car i went over the Mews to meet up with Josh. Josh is a close friend of mine who also happens to be my little brother in KKPsi ( the coed fraternity i was in while in college). We had a fabulous dinner and then he gave me a present, a new set of letter!!!! I was so surprised! The letters are black with purple backings on a black sweatshirt, and my nickname is on it too! It it so cool.

Now that the bridal show is over i can focus on my trip to see Ryan on Thursday. I am so excited to see him, I haven't seen him since Christmas! All i have to do is get threw the nest 3 days and pack my suitcase then its Bon Voyage!
